Life After: A technical issue has forced the cancellation of a September 2, 2026, exam shift in Jaipur for BSF recruitment

A computer-based exam shift for a major Central Armed Police Forces recruitment drive has been cancelled. The Border Security Force announced the cancellation of the September 2, 2026, session at the iDZ Sitapura centre in Jaipur due to technical issues.

Affected candidates will now sit the examination on September 18, 2026. According to the source, a fresh admit card will be issued, and candidates must download the new hall ticket before appearing.

Revised examination timeline

The computer-based written examination for Assistant Sub-Inspector Stenographer and Head Constable Ministerial posts began on September 1, 2026. The September 18 date is for candidates whose Shift 3 session on September 2 at the Jaipur centre was cancelled.

After all exam slots are finished, the BSF Recruitment Portal is expected to release provisional response sheets and answer keys. Candidates can then check their recorded answers and raise objections against the provisional key within a set period.

The final computer-based test results and written cut-off scores will be declared after the objection process and evaluation. The provisional answer key and results are anticipated in October and November 2026.

Skill test requirements

Candidates who pass the written exam will proceed to practical skill tests. For the Head Constable Ministerial role, applicants must complete a computer-based typing test within 10 minutes. The required speed is 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi.

Applicants for the ASI Stenographer post will take a shorthand dictation test at 80 words per minute for 10 minutes. This is followed by a computer-based transcription test, with 50 minutes allowed for English and 65 minutes for Hindi.

Subsequent selection stages

Candidates who progress past the skill tests will undergo document verification. Original educational certificates, category documents, and identity proofs will be checked during this stage.

A Detailed Medical Examination will also be conducted by a Central Armed Police Force medical board. This assessment will determine candidates' physical and medical fitness for appointment.

Vacancy distribution

The recruitment drive aims to fill 1,526 vacancies across several Central Armed Police Forces. The distribution of posts for Assistant Sub-Inspector and Head Constable roles is as follows:
