Students can pursue higher education in Taiwan without needing advanced Mandarin skills. Multiple universities across the country offer full degree programmes conducted entirely in English.

These programmes span from undergraduate to doctoral levels. They cover a wide array of academic and professional disciplines.

Leading university options

National Taiwan University (NTU) provides English-taught bachelor's, master's, and PhD programmes. Fields include economics, civil engineering, biotechnology and food nutrition, and climate change and sustainable development.

National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) also offers degrees in English at all academic levels. Options there cover civil engineering, medicine, and nursing.

Other prominent institutions with English curricula include National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST). NTHU focuses on areas like astronomy and chemical engineering. NPUST covers tropical agriculture, finance, and animal vaccine technology.

Specialised and business programmes

Several schools provide niche or business-focused English tracks. National Taichung University of Science and Technology runs an International Master of Business Administration in Intelligent Operations.

Chang Jung Christian University offers multiple programmes. These are a PhD in Business and Operations Management, an International BBA in International Business, and a Bachelor Degree Programme in International Program for Sustainable Development.

For creative fields, Taipei National University of the Arts has an International MA Programme in Studies of Arts and Creative Industries. Ming Chi University of Technology covers industrial design, biomedical engineering, and energy technology in English.

Finding and applying for courses

Prospective students can find a consolidated list of these programmes through ROC Embassies and Missions Abroad. This official portal compiles information specifically for scholarship applicants.

The availability allows international students to immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture and language at their own pace. They can focus on their academic studies in English while improving their Mandarin outside the classroom. The report lists no specific application deadlines or tuition fees for these programmes.

Interest in such options reflects a growing global demand for accessible international education. Taiwan positions itself as a destination where language is not a barrier to entry for degree seekers.
