IIT Madras opened online registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 on August 27, with applications due by September 27 without a late fee.

GATE 2027 registration to be linked with DigiLocker

Candidates must use their DigiLocker accounts during registration, as IIT Madras has made it mandatory for the application process.

Details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, email, photograph, address, and verified identity card number will be automatically fetched from DigiLocker.

Applicants are advised to create or update their DigiLocker accounts before starting registration to ensure accuracy and avoid submission difficulties.

GATE 2027 exam to be held on six dates

The examination will take place on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027, covering 30 papers.

A new test paper, Robotics and Automation (RA), has been added this year, reflecting the field's expansion across manufacturing, engineering, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and other technology-driven sectors.
